The tax savings associated with Section 125 led to a rapid increase in the demand for flexible compensation. Aflac responded with the January 1990 introduction of Flex One®, a service designed to assist employers in providing flexible compensation options to their employees. Through Flex One®, employers can strengthen benefits packages and give employees access to the power of pre-tax dollars. The money that employees save in taxes may allow them to add more portable benefits and/or pay for uncovered medical expenses.
