There are two types of FSA: Un-reimbursed Medical (URM) and Dependent Day Care (DDC). Participation in an FSA program allows employees to set aside a portion of each paycheck for URM and/or DDC expenses. This amount is deducted from their paycheck before taxes are deducted, so they won't pay taxes on the money they spend on their URM and/or DDC expenes.
